Off for "The Walking Dead" and Co.: Sky says goodbye to FOX

The Disney group took over large parts of the US giant FOX two years ago. These include the important film production company 20th Century Film, National Geographic, and the company FOX International Channels, which also coordinates the channels FOX, FOX Crime, FOX Life and FX in Europe. In addition, Disney took over the complete film and series package from FOX Studios and the Indian station brand Star, which had been taken over by FOX. US television networks FOX, FOX News, FOX Business and FOX Sports were not part of the deal.

In order not to be associated with FOX, Disney is now removing the FOX name from its corporate network worldwide. In return, the Mickey Mouse group is promoting the Indian pay-TV brand Star. Worldwide - except in the home market of the USA - the brand now bundles the range of films, series and documentaries from Disney+. Productions by FOX, ABC and FX are located under the umbrella brand.

Aus für

In Italy, Disney has already discontinued the popular television channels FOX, FOX Crime and FOX Life from the local pay-TV provider Sky Italia as of June 30, while FOX was discontinued in Great Britain a few weeks ago.
