Underpainting promises perfect make-up like a professional

Whether you're a makeup pro or a complete novice, this makeup hack is for everyone. Instead of many small steps, make-up, contour, concealer and blush are applied in one go. Sounds too good to be true? We thought so too - but as numerous videos show, you can achieve beautiful results with the trend in a very short time. We'll show you how it's done.

Celebrity makeup artist started the trend

None other than celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes started the trend. The beauty guru is known for his great make-up looks and is regularly booked by world stars like Jennifer Lopez.

Here's why the makeup hack is so hyped

We totally understand why the trend is going viral on TikTok right now - because Scott Barnes' makeup method not only saves us a lot of time in the Bathroom, the make-up finish is also a lot more even and doesn't look "cakey" at all. How strong the make-up is is up to us. The more product you use, the more opaque it gets. The make-up look is therefore suitable both for a day make-up and for a full glam look.

The order and the right products make the difference

The order in which the products are applied plays a crucial role here. Because we don't start with the foundation as usual - instead we grab the concealer first. But before we start, a small but useful tip: For the make-up look, it is best to only use cream products, which are easier to blend and later provide a nicer finish.

Highlight the beauty of your face

Beauty TikToker @scortezzbeauty shows how it's done: Grab your favorite concealer and apply the product under your eyes as usual. The concealer is also used on the bridge of the nose, in the middle of the forehead and on the sides of the nose. Then use either a beauty blender or a brush and gently work the product into your skin.

Let's get bronzed

Then we apply our contour product. We prefer to use this above the forehead, on the nose and on the cheekbones. This is followed by the blush, which we apply to our cheeks as usual. A little tip: The higher the blush is applied to the cheekbones, the more lifted and awake your look will look later.

Blend, blend, blend

Now grab your foundation and a fluffy make-up brush and put a little product on the brush. Then go over your face with the brush in a circular or stroking motion. The aim is for your make-up to blend with your base of contour, concealer and blush. Repeat this process a few times until you can no longer see any hard edges. Now just fill in the eyebrows, apply mascara and accentuate the eyes with an eyeshadow - your perfect full make-up look is done!
