With #boostyourskills, Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL) and Microsoft Germany start an initiative for the successful career of young people.By imparting future skills, the two companies are committed to the sustainable design of the transition from school to profession.Participation is free of charge for the young people.The aim of the initiative is to enlarge young people's career opportunities, for example by helping them to discover their own strengths and to develop competencies for the digital world of work.In addition, the initiators want to show young people opportunities in growth industries such as logistics and give practical insights through committed employees from the companies involved.

#Boostyourskills: digital competence and insights into the diverse logistics industry

The implementation level of the new educational partnership is about conveying the youngsters how to find, get and master a job.As part of the joint implementation of the program "#Boostyourskills-The Offensive for your career", young people therefore receive targeted impulses to develop their strengths and digital skills as well as mentoring offers.Employees from both companies impart practical knowledge for a successful introduction to the professional world.So the young people can discover jobs and test technologies.The initiative is aimed particularly at young people in the transition from school to work and young people seekers work.“With this initiative, we support young people in developing their strengths and improving their future chances.With the insight into growth -strong industries, we open up perspectives and show the young people how a successful career can succeed, ”explains Monika Schaller, Head of Corporate Communication, Sustainability and Brand at Deutsche Post DHL Group.

The young people and young adults are achieved via partner organizations such as Joblinge E.V., Quinoa Education gGmbH and SOS Children's Village E.V.These initiatives have been committed to the professional participation of young people for many years.After a successfully carried out pilot project in Berlin with around 80 participants, the expansion to further locations in Germany is in preparation for the coming months.In total, this workshop offer 1.000 young people can be reached per year.

Digital skills also train online

With this program, Microsoft also expands its long-term IT-Fitness education initiative to achieve young people and especially young professionals.This gives young people the opportunity to expand their digital skills through low-threshold digital learning modules, for example in the area of communication and collaboration, self-management or application know-how.Subject -specific training, for example on artificial intelligence, complement the offer.After successfully completing online training, the participants receive so-called micro certificates for proof of competence.
