Among other things, the song comments on the trend of people conducting surveys on YouTube to find out how much different young people's outfits are worth. The prices of the outfits, mostly consisting of brand jogging pants, sneakers and expensive watches, often reach a sum in the high five-digit range in such videos.

EDITOR'S RECOMMENDATION

  • Kraftklub singer Felix Brummer announces solo album "KIOX".

Kummer wraps up the absurdity of these videos and the lifestyle behind them in lines like this in “How much is your outfit worth”:

"In a world where you could have been anything
Did you choose to be a fucking asshole?
This world is divided into winners and losers
Between Deichmann, Victory and Thrasher, Louis, Fendi, Fila
Rock between the siblings' worn clothes
And €70 for a pair of Gucci socks
Solidarity has limits
You would stand by poor people
If they could just manage to look a little hotter"

At one point it sounds as if Kummer used a sentence by Tom Kaulitz as a sample while he was a juror on "Germany's Next Topmodel".

This means that the socially critical themes of the rapper and singer continue to run through his music. Already on his first single "9010" he rapped about right-wing violence in his hometown of Chemnitz and beyond. His second song "Not the Music" was about the simple and transparent structures of German rap music at the moment.

EDITOR'S RECOMMENDATION

  • Kraftklub singer Kummer is going on a "KIOX" tour – here are the dates

Kummer's first solo single "9010" was released on June 11, 2019. Less than a month later he announced that he would open his own record store. Another week later he made it public that the store would be called "Kiox Tonträger". The store will be open for just two days, starting October 11, and will serve as the exclusive outlet for his album. Only there and in his online shop should the record be available for purchase.

What's the deal with the album title? Kiox was the name of Felix Kummer's father's record shop. The rapper and singer spent most of his childhood there. So the album is not only a homage to his hometown, but also to his father's past.
