New home shirt revives FCA tradition

For the eleventh season in a row in the Bundesliga, FC Augsburg has come up with something special and goes a little way back to its roots with its new home jersey.

In the 2021/22 season, coach Markus Weinzierl's team will be dressed in home games in the WWK ARENA in a similar way to the former FCA kickers who, after the merger of BC Augsburg with TSV Schwaben Augsburg in the 1969/70 season in of the Bavarian League presented the new club colors red, green and white in the Rosenau Stadium.

Red and green vertical stripes characterize the new jersey and combine the tradition of the first jersey as FC Augsburg after the merger with a modern outfit. The back of the jersey is red, with the club and player names, shirt number and the lettering of the main sponsor WWK Versicherungen and sleeve sponsor Bernd Siegmund GmbH set off in white. Thus, all three club colors are combined in a modern but traditional jersey. The outfit is completed by green pants and red socks.

Neues Heimtrikot lässt FCA-Tradition aufleben

“We are happy that with this home jersey we can build a bridge to an important time for FCA. Being able to revive the first FCA jersey after the merger in 1969 makes the jersey very special for us,” says FCA Managing Director Michael Ströll.

The FCA is also sticking to a “younger tradition” when it comes to the price. As in the previous year, there will be no price increase for the new outfit. The new shirt costs EUR 74.95 (EUR 54.95 for children) and is available now in the online shop and in the FCA 1907 store on Bahnhofstrasse. For the first time, FCA can also offer the new home jersey as a women's jersey.

FCA will celebrate their premiere in the new jersey in the first pre-season friendly against Hamburger SV (Wednesday, July 7, 1.30 p.m.). The game can be seen live on FCA TV.
