We're talking about red, because the warm and intense color tone can quickly come across as aggressive and condescending to our counterpart. Although men find this color sexy and attractive on women, we should opt for softer shades, such as blue or green, for a positive first impression

According to study: This color makes you arrogant

It often happens that we women stand at a loss in front of our full wardrobe and have the panic feeling that we have absolutely nothing to wear. In a hurry, we then look for items of clothing that we like and that might suit the occasion: for a business appointment, we prefer an elegant blazer to our super-cool bomber jacket, because our counterpart should definitely think we are serious and keep competent. On the first date we want to come across as particularly likeable and attractive, so we prefer to choose an exciting dress and sexy pumps instead of our favorite jeans and worn-out sneakers. However, a study has now shown that it is not only important what clothes we wear, but also what color choices we have made, because that influences how we are perceived - one tone scores particularly badly because it leaves us particularly quickly seem arrogant...

This shade makes you look arrogant

The fact that someone who doesn't know us thinks we're arrogant and presumptuous is a real nightmare for many of us, because these qualities are considered particularly unattractive and repulsive. Since clothes are known to make the man, we should therefore attach great importance to the selection of our outfit and avoid this color: red! Although the tone is considered particularly warm and many men find it very attractive to women, this nuance did not fare well in a study from the UK: People dressed in red appeared in a business setting or to a group of new people were perceived as very authoritarian and decisive, which is not particularly good for the first impression. More than 28 percent of those surveyed therefore perceived red as negative and therefore concluded that it was less friendly character traits, such as arrogance or cockiness. The participants in the study also perceived orange as aloof, followed by yellow.

We should rather rely on these tones

Blue, brown and green were best received, because these nuances had a rather positive influence on the first impression. People who wore blue clothes were perceived as particularly intelligent and friendly. Black is considered a real classic among shades and is a safe choice for both serious occasions and dates. For a self-confident, but still likeable appearance at a business meeting, we could rely on pantsuits, blazers or classic business pants and dresses in black or blue. Of course, the dark nuance is also considered conservative, so garments in shades of blue, such as royal blue, underline our trend awareness. A skilful combination of dark blue pants and a blouse in a more intense nuance makes a good impression.
