Powerful EU leaders with zero interest in Switzerland - Inside Paradeplatz Inside Paradeplatz Inside Paradeplatz

What is now beginning to form in Berlin as the new German government does not look good for Switzerland. Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a Social Democrat, has distinguished himself as a fundraiser from Switzerland.

For Scholz, those “escape Germans” who withhold their assets and income from the German tax authorities live there. As the new German Chancellor, he will continue to give Switzerland a thumbs-up, just like his predecessors Helmut Schmidt and Gerhard Schröder.

These "Northern Lights" don't feel like the native Bavarians and certainly not the non-native Swiss.

So far our hopes have been pinned on the German foreign ministers. They were happy to come to beautiful Switzerland and for many years gave the impression that they were working for the interests of our country in the EU capital of Brussels.

It's over. Because Annalena Baerbock, that rustic and not lazy-mouthed Green, is preparing to become the new German foreign minister.

Baerbock has already indicated that he wants to stretch a "Green Arch" across Europe. This is the only way to achieve the climate goals. She is against gas supplies from Russia. She has never put the word "Switzerland" in her mouth. We don't exist for them.

In the duel between Robert Habeck and Christian Lindner, it will be decided who will be the new German finance minister or the first German climate minister.

Lindner, who has many supporters in Switzerland, is currently in the lead as finance minister. Both are not really in the mood for Switzerland. Lindner is a bit more elegant in this matter. The extreme "Northern Lights" Habeck is not interested in our country.

Result: Big, little Switzerland is suddenly all alone in the big EU-Europe. Her longtime friend Sebastian Kurz from neighboring Austria stumbled across a media scandal at short notice.

Mario Draghi, the extremely strong Italian head of government, is not really interested in Switzerland. Wherever he can, he scores points for Italy.

In Brussels we stand there with a begging sack in our hands. Under pressure from the Blocher family, which has more than 20 billionaires, we refused to sign the EU framework agreement.

Now we don't have an energy agreement with the EU, and the Federal Council is already letting us know that we will soon no longer be able to heat our homes electrically. The company's own energy production is no longer sufficient for this.

Our medtech industry has just let us know that we will soon have to do without tens of thousands of products for general practitioners and hospitals. We don't have an agreement with the EU and can no longer introduce such things. The export is also stuck.

The EU is no longer sending us the billions for the “Horizon” science agreement. The Federal Council, in its wisdom, has therefore decided to pay for these amounts itself at the expense of its taxpayers.

We have just approved CHF 1.3 billion in Eastern aid for the EU and transferred the first installment. Unfortunately, the Federal Council forgot to make counter-demands. The Swiss taxpayers' money is gone.

Don't we have to take a deep breath to understand what our parties in Bern, the Federal Council with its top civil servants and the top Swiss media have achieved in this difficult situation?

Switzerland, two years before the elections, has voluntarily isolated itself. Every economist knows that this is a catastrophic state of affairs.

As it stands, the situation will hardly change in the short term. Our streets are occupied by rioting liberty drummers making a hell of a racket.

The mind gets lost in this noise.
