Perfect makeup with the 2-brush rule
On Instagram, makeup artist Stephanie Valentine - aka "glamzilla" - shares a trick she teaches herself in her masterclasses student passes on. It is as simple as it is ingenious: she always uses two brushes for the complexion products such as foundation, bronzer, concealer & Co. Doesn't sound exciting at first? Wait!
One of these brushes is dry, as we all know. The other is wet. "I apply everything that's wet with a wet brush," says the make-up artist. These include foundation concealer, cream contour and cream blush. Instead, she uses the dry brush to apply all dry products, such as setting powder, bronzer and blush.
This is how the technology works
It's actually totally logical. Now let's get to the question of why we need this. If your makeup is ruined in any way (crying, raining or sweating), you can simply brush over said area with the wet brush you already used and then powder over it again with the dry brush. "It's like it never happened," says Stephanie Valentine.
Of course, it's important that you don't use the same brush for every product. This is usually not a problem with cream products such as foundation and concealer, but you should not necessarily also apply the bronzer with the powder brush, otherwise the colors on the skin will mix quickly and you will no longer be able to place them where you want them .
